The websites below are for non-profit or professional organizations relevant to musicians. PLEASE NOTE: These websites are outside of DSU so we cannot guarantee that information or links on these sites will function.
Many of these websites share general resources and information in the field of music. Most do not contain original research or peer-reviewed resources, but they can be a great start for brainstorming topics or ideas that you can dive into more deeply within our databases and references resources.
The International Music Score Library Project (IMSLP) is NOT a DSU provided resource. It is free to anyone and can be found at imslp.org.
Permalinks can be found near the settings menu of each item (upper right corner) so you can save the link for suture reference or add it to your citations.
!!!Be cautious of ads!!! When downloading scores, IMSLP displays large ads with misleading phrases (such as 'Download Now!'). Read all text carefully to make sure you're not clicking on an ad.
IMSLP is a free resource for scores for academic use. Please be aware of copyright protections – downloading a single copy for research, practice, or a private lesson is acceptable, but using multiple copies for a public performance or recording session can be copyright infringement!
There are many web sites devoted to music on the Internet. You will find directories, listservs, biographies, and other types of reference materials that may help you in your academic pursuit.
