Government Documents: Introduction

Temporary University Closure

On March 16, 2020, Delaware State University temporarily closed to public visitors in accordance with statewide efforts to contain the spread of the COVID-19 virus. If you require assistance with finding a government document, please email our librarians or leave a chat message and we will assist you with finding an electronic version of the document that you can use.

"Government documents" are publications created or published by federal, state or local U.S. government entities. Common examples include reports, statistics, hearings, treaties, maps, fact sheets, infographics, and many more. They may be be digital publications as well as physical items, such as books or paper maps.  

Many of the physical Government Documents collected by Delaware State University's Library are located on the 5th floor of the William C. Jason Library building on the university's Dover campus.

Delaware State University's William C. Jason Library is a congressionally designated depository for U.S. Government documents. Public access to the government documents collection is guaranteed by public law. (Title 44 United States Code)
