Computer and Information Science: Checking Out Library Materials

This guide is designed specifically for students doing research in Computer and Information Science

Borrowing Privileges

You will need your D# set up in the library's system in order to gain access to any journal or e-book in the library's electronic resources.

If you're a new library user, complete the PATRON FORM to have your library account set up. (Process usually takes ~10-15 minutes during library hours.)

If you believe your account is set up, but haven't used it in awhile, call 302-857-6191 or e-mail LIBCIRC@desu.edu and ask if your account is ready or needs renewal. You will be asked to provide your D#.

Books, Media and eBooks Circulation Loan Periods

  • 21 days for circulating materials (renewals are allowed)
  • 7 Day circulation for certain PERMANENT RESERVES Certification/Recertification Exams, Practice Test and Study Guides (second copies only) and selected Faculty Reserve books.
  • 7 Day circulation for DVD's
  • 2  Hour In-house use for faculty reserve materials

Laptops & Study Rooms

Collaborative work spaces and study rooms are available in the William C. Jason Library for use by students

  • Check out is for two (2) hours
  • The collaborative work space is available on a first come, first serve basis
  • Renewals are allowed

       

 

The new laptops are available for checkout at the circulation desk. 

  • Check out is for four (4) hours

In addition to the laptops, the following library materials are also available for checkout:

  • Memorex Portable DVD players;
  • Calculators;
  • Headphones;
  • USB Flash Drives;
  • Mobile whiteboards to enhance library learning spaces and active learning;
  • White board markers and erasers.
